HOUSE OF STRIKE
FASHION EXHIBITION
DIRECTOR OF EXTERNAL AFFAIRS, STRIKE GNV
In December, I organized and hosted Strike GNV’s first fashion exhibition. It featured seven original set designs, each emblematic of a theme that journeyed to answer Issue 07’s titular question: Who do you think you are?
The exhibition showcased handmade garments worn by models immersed in several set designs. The main garment piece from each set was auctioned off at the end of the event with all proceeds donated to The Pride Community Center of North Central Florida (PCCNCF), an organization that empowers LGBTQ+ community members.
Set one, Stolen Innocence, displayed Generation Z’s connection to nature; set two, Perception, represented a matrix of interconnectedness; set three, Idyllic Lifestyle, signified our society’s increasingly strict beauty standards; set four, Overconsumption, drew attention to our innate inclination to consume without bounds; set five, Temptation, exhibited feelings of desire; set six, Balance, explored imperfection; and set seven, Reflected Identity, embraced an uncertain sense of self.
